Ashford WI
Ashford WI is a very friendly group who welcome new members of all ages. We meet on the first Thursday of the month at 7.15pm at the Institute (2pm from November till March). We hold a wide range of events and days out - from quad biking to floristry! The WI is a great way to get together, forge new friendships, learn new skills and make a difference to our community. New members welcome any time!

Post Office
There is an ‘outreach’ Post Office which is open two mornings a week in the Institute. Opened by the late Duke of Devonshire, it provides a vital service for many village residents and we encourage everyone to use this facility whenever possible to ensure that it remains open.

Health & Fitness
Ashford Cricket Club
The sound of leather on willow, an afternoon of cricket by the banks of the beautiful River Wye, refreshments in the sun in front of the clubhouse, and a merry band of cricket fans and visitors watching on from the grass bank alongside. Just a stone's throw from the Village Hall, our cricket pitch is a picture perfect scene in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Exercise, fun and friendship to boot - what's not to love?!

Tae Kwon-Do
The ancient Korean martial art of Tae Kwon-do may seem a world away from our English countryside setting, but this fascinating practice has an ever-growing following. Aimed at children of all ages and experience - from beginners to black belts, learn skills for life whilst burning off some energy under the careful guidance of our 사범, or sabom - that's an instructor to me and you! New members always welcome.

Yoga
Yoga; an ancient practice combining physical and mental exercises with the power to strengthen the body and calm the mind. Our instructors are committed not just to your health, but to your wellbeing. Young or old, overweight or fit, yoga is as empowering as it is health-giving. Don’t be intimidated by a lack of experience, yoga is for everyone.

Hobbies
Craft Group
Craft Group meets every Wednesday morning at the Institute. Bring your crafting projects, grab a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy two hours spent knitting, paper craft, felting or sewing - there's no limit to your creativity when you're surrounded by friends with shared interests and bags of crafting know-how.

Indoor Bowls
It doesn’t matter if you’ve only ever watched a game of bowls, or if you know nothing about it – indoor bowls is a really simple and enjoyable game to get into. Some of the benefits of indoor bowls include its sociability (it’s a great way to meet new people and make new friends), as well as the fact it’s suitable for people of all ages and abilities

Floristry
Floristry encompasses the cultivation of flowers through to their arrangement and sale. From flower care and handling to floral design, arrangement and display, it's a traditional art requiring practice and precision. Join us to learn more about this beautiful craft, and perhaps take part in our annual village Well Dressings; the floristry focus-point of our year.

Snooker
Just 18 miles from the world-famous Crucible Theatre, it's no wonder our full-size slate-bed snooker table is a much loved facility here in Ashford in the Water. Whether you're local to the area and come regularly, or you're on holiday and fancy a quick game - it's available to book for a morning, afternoon or evening session, seven days a week. Cues are provided, all you need to do is close those curtains, switch the light on and play your A-game!

Upholstery: the art of turning the mundane into the magnificent! Our informal group of welcoming local hobbyists enjoy each others' company as much as the satisfaction of turning functional furnishings into fabulous showpieces. Learn tips and tricks, perfect your skills and upcycle that family heirloom that's deserving of some TLC - all in the company of like-minded enthusiasts.
