Ashford WI

Ashford WI is a very friendly group who welcome new members of all ages. We meet on the first Thursday of the month at 7.15pm at the Institute (2pm from November till March). We hold a wide range of events and days out - from quad biking to floristry! The WI is a great way to get together, forge new friendships, learn new skills and make a difference to our community. New members welcome any time!

How to book:  Booking is not required, turn up and get involved!

Post Office

There is an ‘outreach’ Post Office which is open two mornings a week in the Institute. Opened by the late Duke of Devonshire, it provides a vital service for many village residents and we encourage everyone to use this facility whenever possible to ensure that it remains open.

Ashford Cricket Club

The sound of leather on willow, an afternoon of cricket by the banks of the beautiful River Wye, refreshments in the sun in front of the clubhouse, and a merry band of cricket fans and visitors watching on from the grass bank alongside. Just a stone's throw from the Village Hall, our cricket pitch is a picture perfect scene in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Exercise, fun and friendship to boot - what's not to love?!

The ancient Korean martial art of Tae Kwon-do may seem a world away from our English countryside setting, but this fascinating practice has an ever-growing following. Aimed at children of all ages and experience - from beginners to black belts, learn skills for life whilst burning off some energy under the careful guidance of our 사범, or sabom - that's an instructor to me and you! Craft Group meets every Wednesday morning at the Institute.  Bring your crafting projects, grab a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy two hours spent knitting, paper craft, felting or sewing - there's no limit to your creativity when you're surrounded by friends with shared interests and bags of crafting know-how.
